Ukip and the rise of Conformist Victimhood

There exists in this great country a growing chunk of the populace whose sense of self-worth and identity is so weak, so insecure, that the very existence of other ways of viewing the world is seen as a threat.

These people have such a shaky grip on what it truly means to be British, that they constantly have to shout, chant, dress up a medieval knights, wave the flag and preach hate because they have no idea that true patriotism is not about attacking other people, but being an example of just how compassionate and civilised your country can be.
MY sense of culture is strong and secure, which is why I have no fear of another’s. Last December I went around saying ‘Merry Christmas’ to everybody – including the Muslim owner of my local corner shop – no-one tried to stop me, no-one greeted me with any hostility, no-one responded with anything but a smile and a ‘You too’! Where is this mythical place that the right wing press spend so much time where you are ‘not allowed’ to say Merry Christmas to anyone? This horse-shit non-story, is an utter fabrication. Even if someone did give you hassle for saying ‘Merry Christmas’, it wouldn’t be because they were of another faith, it’d be because they were a dick!

• Your neighbour praying to Allah DOES NOT STOP YOU praying to God!

There is a bizarre outlook growing in this country which, for some reason, seems to think that another person having a different culture somehow prevents you from expressing yours! This is so obviously nonsense – you may as well say that a shoe shop opening next door prevents you from getting a haircut down the road!

• A halal butcher opening up down the street DOES NOT PREVENT you from buying a bacon sarnie!
• A gay couple getting married DOES NOT PREVENT you from having a heterosexual marriage!
• A mosque opening across town DOES NOT PREVENT you from attending church!

But when you explain these painfully obvious facts to someone stuck in the Victim Mindset, they just cannot understand, and mumble something non-specific about ‘cultural erosion’. How weak! How pathetic! Just how little faith do these people have in the validity of their own worldview that the existence of any different ones is seen as somehow ‘eroding’ it, despite not actually doing ANYTHING to impede your freedoms whatsoever! Britain is no more being ‘Islamified’ now than it was ‘Jamaicified’ in the 60s!

• Stop trying to Christianise me!

I have been accosted – both on the street and in my home – by religious people three times in the last month or so, calling me a wicked sinner and trying to convert me to their religion. Do you know which faith these people followed? Of course you do – they were sub-sects of Christianity! This has never happened to me from a Muslim, despite the fact there are two local Mosques in this bit of London and only one church – twice as many religious buildings yet far less hassle!

There are far, far more Chinese take-aways in Britain than Halal butchers yet no-one is going on about the “Chinification” of Britain, it is only mainstream media and nationalist parties who are stoking this demonstrably false outlook.

• I want my derelict British High Street back!

People seem to never stop complaining about their high-streets being ‘taken over’ by foreign speaking people, despite the fact that this is obviously nonsensical.
We do not have gangs of immigrant heavies turning up on business doorsteps and ‘turfing out’ the native, British shopkeeper. What happens is that buildings lie derelict and shuttered up for years (I have seen this happen to my own high street) only to become REVITALISED by a new wave of immigration. The Hate-riots would, apparently, rather see derelict, decaying and deserted high streets than anything which might have a whiff of the ‘foreign’ about it.

• Poor me, I’m only in a majority of 90%!

This paranoid and deluded set of views, which assumes that if something is different, it must be threatening, is replicated in the fear of homosexuals – where the hell did that idea come from?! Surely any genuinely heterosexual male would be all in favour of gay men, as it increases the number of available women?!
Fact of the matter is that these people have been born in the Western world white, male, straight and healthy (physically, at least, if not spiritually). They are in the vast VAST majority and have, basically, won on the lottery of life.
The fact that, inwardly, they see themselves as having failed despite all these advantages, is just too much to bear – it HAS to be someone else’s fault!
So now we have the embarrassing, hilarious notion of ‘Cultural Marxism’. This bullshit phrase basically means ‘I have a problem with plurality – I want everyone to live exactly like I do and if they don’t, I will see it as a threat’. How pathetic, how shameless and embarrassing!
What these babies are basically whining is; “Waah, waah, only 90% of the population live the exact same lifestyle as me, waaah, I want it to be 100%!”
It is truly, devastatingly, pathetic – these people – grown adults – are behaving like spoilt children, bawling because they didn’t win the egg n spoon race at school and are now shamelessly pointing the finger of blame at everyone else for ‘cheating’ (and, of course, later on trying to find some innocent person on the playground to vent their pent-up rage on – in a group, of course!)

• The Mindset of Victimhood

The sad thing is that, as long as these people live in this Mindset of Victimhood – where all of their non-existent problems are somebody else’s fault – they will never be happy. They could deport all Muslims, all immigrants, all homosexuals – everyone they didn’t like and they still would never be happy. (You can see this demonstrated by the fact that, during far-right rallies – in fact the recent Pegida flop in Newcastle was a perfect example – these various groups will actually wilfully start being violent to each other given the slightest provocation!) They can only ever truly realise their own internal greatness by taking responsibility for their own lives. I work in a warehouse for minimum wage + 10p and there is only one person I hold responsible for this fact – ME.
Baseless, pointless scapegoating and rage – rage which only truly serves to harm themselves – is the mind-set these people are stuck in. It is so depressing because not only does it make everyone else’s lives more unpleasant – but it also makes their own lives a tapestry of misery! If they could just learn to view the world with open eyes, open heart and open mind they would feel better in themselves – and so would everyone around them!

• Ukip – Distraction, deception and scapegoating

And this is where ukip come in. What we, as a society, should be doing, is trying to show these people just how harmful – to themselves and others – this psychology of victimhood is. We should be trying to unite and empower the disenfranchised of all faiths and outlooks, to show them that they can be happy just by being kind. To make them realise that a divisive, fear and hate based reality as harmful to themselves as it is to others. We should – for their own benefit, for our benefit, and for the benefit of everyone around them – be showing them just how much better and brighter life is when you choose a loving path.
But ukip do the opposite – ukip fan these flames of resentment and tension – gleefully, and for their own agendas. Ukip want to see impoverished whites squabbling with impoverished muslims, disenfranchised homosexuals and exploited eastern Europeans, because while we are fighting amongst ourselves, ukip’s elitist, establishment overlords can continue pillaging the country unnoticed.
Their weasel words pour into people’s ears like Grima Wormtongue’s in LOTR, infecting people’s psyche – poisoning their minds, weakening their hearts and stoking the flames of fear and hate in their bellies.
I have no problem with ukip being ‘anti-EU’ – this counterpoint stance is vital for open debate. But that is not what ukip are any more – even the party’s own founder has disowned them.
Ukip are no longer a party of anti-federalists, standing up for Britain against European bureaucracy – They have become nothing more than a Mecca (irony intended!) for the chronically resentful and paranoid. Whatever strand of hate you ascribe to, there is a place for you in ukip.
Ukip are supposed to be about protecting British interests in Europe but they do no such thing [btw, Eukip, and their abysmal efforts defending Britain in Europe, will be the subject of the next blog!], all they are now is a willing ear to every homophobe, xenophobe, chauvinist, Islamophobe, anti-Semite, racist and Victim-Head in the land.
At a time when we most need to be working together to create a more just society for everyone after economic catastrophe – as we did after WW2 – ukip are tearing the fabric of our great country apart with their divisive, hate-filled agenda, turning neighbour on neighbour just so NF’s friends in the City can get away with continuing to asset-strip, pillage and impoverish this great nation.
